Trust (digital identity, etc.)
As a basis for data distribution and collaboration, there is a need for mechanisms and tools that improve the verification of the identity and existence of parties and the non-falsification and authenticity of data, which help to trust the parties and data that are exchanged. At present, we are promoting initiatives for the utilization of digital identities of "people, corporations, goods, etc." that establish and certify "identities, qualifications, attributes, etc." in digital.
Overview
Through various policies to secure and improve trust, we aim to promote digital completion of administrative procedures, utilize digital identities across countries, and improve the safety and security of users regarding the handling of personal information. Specifically, we are examining governance and use cases related to the use of digital identities, and promoting international cooperation.
Efforts to expand digital identity
The use and application of digital identity, which establishes and proves the "identity, qualifications, attributes, etc." of "people, corporations, goods, etc." in digital, is the basis and an important element for securing and improving trust in the digital society.
We are considering and implementing governance measures to expand the social implementation and appropriate and effective use of digital identities, and to enable citizens to use them with peace of mind.
Digital Identity Wallet(DIW)
The "Digital Identity Wallet," a system and application (wallet) that allows individuals and corporations to store, manage, and present their attributes and credentials, etc., is expected to improve privacy and contribute to digital completion of procedures. We are implementing measures such as social implementation and governance so that citizens can use it with peace of mind.
Digital Identity Wallet (DIW) Advisory Board
An advisory board consisting of external experts was held to examine and organize the benefits, risks, and issues of DIW as a reference and prerequisite for the future implementation of DIW in society.
Verifiable Credential(VC/VDC)
Verifiable (Digital) Credential (VC/VDC) is a general-purpose, machine-readable data format and data distribution format related to attribute information of "people, corporations, things, etc." that can realize functions such as authenticity and falsification prevention by digital signatures. This VC is attracting attention as an important trend related to digital identity. We will consider governance, etc. necessary for appropriate use of VC, such as organizing benefits and points to keep in mind.
Expert Panel on Governance in Leveraging Verifiable Credentials (VC/VDC)
Based on the relevance to the current laws and ordinances, systems, and mechanisms, we will organize points to keep in mind regarding the process of using VCs. We will also consider necessary governance, etc. and discuss the uses of VCs that are expected to be used in the future.

Trusted Web
The Trusted Web is an initiative to add a new framework of trust to the Internet, such as a mechanism to strengthen the control of data by individuals and corporations and a mechanism to verify data exchanged and the other party, without depending on any specific service. We have prepared a white paper summarizing this concept and are working in various fields utilizing this concept.
