Expiration (Deletion) of Smartphone electronic certificate
Under the law, when discontinuing the use of a smartphone for which a smartphone electronic certificate has been registered due to changes in model, trade-in, sale, disposal, or malfunction, etc., it is obligatory that the user revokes (deletes) the electronic certificate themselves.
By carrying out the revocation (deletion) procedure from the smartphone on which the electronic certificate for smartphones has been registered, the electronic certificate will be revoked and the related information in the smartphone will be deleted.
If the electronic certificate invalidation (deletion) procedure is not carried out appropriately, the smartphone electronic certificate will remain in the smartphone. (It will not be deleted by initializing the smartphone device.)
Even if a electronic certificate is left on a smartphone, it cannot be abused unless the smartphone is properly managed or the password is known. However, in order to eliminate the risk of remaining information in the smartphone, when discontinuing the use of a smartphone for which a electronic certificate for the smartphone has been registered, it is necessary to ensure that the procedure for invalidating (deleting) the reservation is completed.
How to Invalidate (Delete) Smartphone electronic certificate

You do not know the password required to revoke (delete)
The password (6 to 16 alpha-numeric characters) that you set when registering your smartphone electronic certificate is required for the revocation (deletion) procedure. If you have forgotten the password, use My Number Card to initialize and reset the password, and then carry out the revocation (deletion) procedure.
If you cannot initialize or reset the password, such as when you do not have the My Number Card, uninstall the Myna app while the smartphone for which the electronic certificate has been registered is connected to the network. The electronic certificate will expire and the related information in the smartphone will be deleted.
If you initialize the FOMA phone before carrying out the invalidation (deletion) procedure
Smartphone electronic certificate has been registered. If you have formatted your smartphone, download the My Number app again and open the card screen of the My Number app while the smartphone is connected to the network. The smartphone electronic certificate will be deleted (*) and will no longer be available.
*By downloading the Myna app again, the remaining old electronic certificate will be deleted.
If you give up your FOMA terminal without taking procedures for malfunction / invalidation (deletion) of the terminal
In order to prevent unauthorized use of the electronic certificate, please temporarily suspend the electronic certificate for smartphones.

In the event that a smartphone for which a smartphone electronic certificate has been registered overseas is lost or stolen, please have an agent such as a family member living in Japan contact the My Number General Toll-Free Number , and temporarily suspend the use of the electronic certificate.
