1. PMH Initiatives
In the fields of medical care subsidies, maternal and child health care, vaccinations, and long-term care insurance, which are implemented mainly by local governments, there is a heavy burden on the people, local governments, medical institutions, and pharmacies, and improvements are needed.
In order to solve this problem, the Roadmap for the Promotion of Medical Digital Transformation (published in Cabinet Secretariat) (PDF / 454 kb) , which was decided on June 2, 2023 (2023), states that "We will develop an information coordination mechanism that enables the safe exchange of necessary information between related organizations and administrative organizations, and share information related to long-term care insurance, vaccination, maternal and child health, publicly funded health care, and local independent medical care subsidies, etc., in conjunction with efforts to standardize local government systems."
In FY 2023 (FY 2023), Digital Agency developed a system (Public Medical Hub: PMH) with an information linkage function as a mechanism for this information linkage, and started a preliminary implementation project for municipalities that want to use it in the fields of medical care subsidies, vaccinations, and maternal and child health. In the future, we will expand the functions to increase the systems and use cases for information linkage in PMH, and promote initiatives to expand the target municipalities, medical institutions, and pharmacies.
Benefits of PMH
- Medical care support field
- When visiting medical institutions and pharmacies, the My Number Card (My Number Card as the Health Insurance Certificate) can be used as a claimant certificate or patient registration card for medical care subsidies.
- Field of immunization and maternal and child health
- It will be possible to enter the prevaccination screening questionnaire and medical questionnaire in advance using a smartphone, etc., and use the My Number Card as a vaccination ticket and medical examination ticket.
- Vaccination and medical examinations will be recommended by Mynaportal to prevent people from forgetting vaccinations and medical examinations, and vaccination history and medical examination results will be available in real time on Mynaportal.
