1. PMH Initiatives
In the fields of medical care subsidies, maternal and child health, vaccinations, and long-term care insurance, which are mainly implemented by local governments, there is a heavy workload for the people, local governments, medical institutions, and pharmacies to coordinate information on paper, and improvements are needed.
In order to solve this problem, the Road Map for the Promotion of Medical DX (published in Cabinet Secretariat) (PDF / 454 kb) decided on June 2, 2023 (2023) states that "A mechanism for information coordination that enables the safe exchange of necessary information between related organizations and administrative agencies will be developed, and information related to long-term care insurance, vaccinations, maternal and child health, publicly funded health care, and medical care subsidies for local governments will be shared in conjunction with efforts to standardize local government systems."
In FY 2023 (FY 2023), Digital Agency developed a system (Public Medical Hub: PMH) with an information linkage function as a mechanism for this information linkage, and started an advanced implementation project in the fields of medical care subsidies, vaccinations, and maternal and child health for local governments that wish to do so. In the future, PMH will expand its functions to increase the number of systems and use cases for information linkage, and promote initiatives to expand the target local governments, medical institutions, and pharmacies.
Benefits of PMH
- Field of medical care subsidies
- When visiting medical institutions and pharmacies, the My Number Card (My Number Card as the Health Insurance Certificate) can be used as a recipient certificate for medical care subsidies and as a patient registration card.
- Fields of immunization and maternal and child health
- Prevaccination Screening Questionnaire and Medical Questionnaire will be input in advance using smartphones, etc., and the My Number Card will be used as vaccination tickets and consultation tickets.
- The Mynaportal will recommend vaccinations and medical examinations to prevent people from forgetting vaccinations and medical examinations, and vaccination history and medical examination results will be available on the Mynaportal in real time.
