Solicitation of Application Examples in Private Services in gBizID in FY 2025 and Results of Empirical Connection Experiments

Overview

Currently, access to gBizID is limited to administrative agencies, but there are requests for the use of gBizID as a means of authenticating business operators even in private sector transactions and contracts. In addition, Priority Plan has clearly stated that it will consider expanding the use of certified gBizID in the private sector, based on studies on the Uranus Ecosystem trust. In light of this, it is necessary to sort out the direction of future collaboration with private sector services in function, including its feasibility. gBizID
For this reason, in fiscal 2025, we conducted a public call on the implementation of demonstration connection experiments and the solicitation of application examples for private services in gBizID. We received many application examples and connection requests, and seven groups (13 companies) were selected to participate in the demonstration connection experiments.

Future Efforts

In the surveys and studies conducted in fiscal 2025, we received a variety of examples of collaboration with private-sector services in gBizID. The feasibility of the collaboration was also shown in the demonstration connection experiment, and it became clear that there are issues related to the collaboration. We will continue to study the realization of private-sector service collaboration in fiscal 2026.
