Government AI GENAI Official Logo Released

1. Overview

In Japan, where the labor shortages caused by population decline, low birthrates, and an aging society are becoming increasingly severe, the government's active use of AI, especially generative AI, has become indispensable for maintaining and enhancing public services. Therefore, the Digital Agency is advancing initiatives to implement "Government AI GENAI," positioning the government’s utilization of AI as a starting point for broader societal adoption.
The Agency launched a large-scale pilot program in May 2026 and is progressively expanding the scope of participating ministries, agencies, and their employees, while developing the infrastructure to enable approximately 180,000 employees across the government to use the platform. As part of these efforts to foster recognition and trust in the project, an official logo for Government AI GENAI has been established.

2. Government AI GENAI Official Logo and its Purpose

From a single drop to all Japanese society.
The logo is inspired by the image of a single drop of ink from a calligraphy brush permeating and spreading across paper. It represents how AI adoption, beginning with the government, can gradually extend throughout society.
The experience and track record cultivated through the Digital Agency’s initiatives will be shared broadly, crossing organizational and sectoral boundaries. This chain reaction will drive administrative reform and ultimately create new value across Japanese society.
The logo symbolizes the power to create profound change from small beginnings, embodying the commitment to “Start from the government.”
