Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kishi visited the Republic of Estonia

Parliamentary Vice-Miniter for Digital Transformation Kishi visited the Republic of Estonia from July 1-2 to exchange views with the government ministries and agencies involved in digital and to observe digitalization efforts in the private sectors. The visit aimed to deepen mutual understanding of advanced digital initiatives in both countries.
Exchange views with the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs with Deputy Secretary General Tõnu Grünberg, responsible for Digital Infrastructure and Cyber Security. They shared updates on recent initiatives concerning AI in government and cybersecurity and exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the future based on the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed in May 2022.

Visited the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE)
The CCDCOE, is a research institute that specializes in cyber defence, accredited and promoted by NATO. The Centre plays pivotal role in enhancing cyber defence capabilities of member nations through the planning, development, and delivery of training programs that simulate cyber-attacks.
During the exchange of views, they discussed frameworks aimed at ensuring cyber resilience against evolving cyber threats. Furthermore, the discussion focused on the exercise programs offered by the Centre and the collaboration with the member nations to enable organizational responses to cyber challenges.

Visited the e-Estonia Briefing Centre
Visited the e-Estonia Briefing Centre and gained insights into Estonia's advanced digital initiatives, such as X-Road, the effects of digitalization, specific examples, identified issues, and ongoing initiatives including how these issues are being addressed and the current status of their implementation.

Meetings with the digital-related private sectors
Visited the private sectors in Estonia, recognized for their cutting-edge technologies in the digital field, to exchange opinions. The participants focused on sharing insights on how to address cybersecurity threats, particularly among private sectors involved in the research and development of cybersecurity technologies, in light of the increasing threats in cyberspace.
