On June 19, 2025, State Minister for Digital Transformation, HOSAKA Yasushi held a signing ceremony for the "Agreement on the Utilization of My Number Card in Matching App Services" with Yuta Iizuka, Representative Director of the Association of Dating and Marriage Matching Apps, in Digital Agency.

- At the time of registering to use the matching app in identity verification, we used to visually check the images of identity verification documents, but now you can make a Affidavit of Competency to Marry based on family register-related information, etc. in cooperation with identity verification using My Number Card and Mynaportal APIs. By using these functions, you can make robust identity verification online. We have already implemented them in the services of companies in the industry, including members of the Association of Dating and Marriage Matching Apps, and have concluded an agreement with Digital Agency on the use of My Number Card in the matching app service. By introducing the identity verification method using My Number Card, we believe that we can provide services that can be used for safe and secure more. Digital Agency will continue to provide support in the area of digitalisation in identity verification.

- At first, the Association started as an organization that includes a wide range of businesses that support marriage, such as marriage counseling centers and bridal companies, under the name of the Marriage and Konkatsu Support Project. In 2017, it started a subcommittee consisting of companies operating matching apps, and has been engaged in various activities, such as formulating self-regulatory guidelines and collaborating with administrative agencies. In order to meet the expectations of society regarding recent matching apps, in April this year, the name was changed to the Association of Dating and Marriage Matching Apps, and the purpose of activities, business contents, and membership types were revised.
In this agreement with Digital Agency, we will use My Number Card as an option in identity verification to build environments where matching apps can be used safely and securely, and promote their use.

Purpose
Digital Agency and the Association of Matching Apps for Love and Marriage will cooperate with each other in order to promote the use of My Number Card as well as to promote the creation of environments where matching app services can be used safely and securely using My Number Card.
Matters to be coordinated
- Improve the reliability of matching application services by promoting the use of My Number Card based verification of attributes such as age, Affidavit of Competency to Marry and proof of income.
- Efforts will be made to raise awareness of the convenience and reliability of My Number Card and expand the cases of its utilization through the use of matching app services, etc.
- Cooperate to resolve industry issues and technical issues related to My Number Card in the matching app service and improve the convenience of My Number Card use in the matching app
- Promote other matters decided through mutual consultation regarding the examination and promotion of My Number Card utilization.
