In June 2025, the G7 countries agreed to launch the "G7 GovAI Grand Challenge", an initiative to accelerate the use of AI in the public sector and realize efficient and transparent administrative services, in the G7 Leaders’ Statement at Kananaskis Summit. As part of this initiative, the Government of Canada, which holds the G7 presidency in 2025, will host a hackathon titled "Rapid Solution Labs" to promote the use of AI in the public sector from November 17, 2025.

Eligibility
Applications are accepted from a wide range of industries, academia and government, including private sectors, universities and other educational and research institutions, and national and local governments.
- Each team consists of 4 members
- Each team should include at least 1 engineer
- At least one English speaker is required (for the pitch event)
- Additional conditions apply for minor participants

The winning team will receive up to 10,000 Canadian dollars from the Government of Canada.
2. How to apply

- Applicants are required to register e-mail address.
- The Government of Canada will send information such as the details of the hackathon and the schedule to the registered e-mail address.
- Participants from Japan will be asked to submit documents after applying for the hackathon.
