Digital Minister Taira delivered a speech at the Japanese-Hungarian Business Forum in Tokyo

On September 17, 2025, Digital Minister Taira attended the Japanese-Hungarian Business Forum held in Tokyo. During the forum, he delivered a speech on Japan’s initiatives in digitalization and the challenges posed by an aging society that both countries are facing. He also emphasized the importance of future bilateral cooperation and partnership between Japan and Hungary.
During a bilateral meeting with Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, they exchanged views on cooperation and partnership in the digital field.
Details of the Japanese-Hungarian Business Forum in Tokyo
Hosted by the Embassy of Hungary, the forum served as a platform for dialogue and exchange aimed at promoting business collaboration between Japan and Hungary. It brought together government officials, private sector representatives, and academia from both countries.
From Hungary, their innovative companies from various fields participated in the forum, including AI, ICT, IoT, cybersecurity, digital transformation, data analysis, and smart city initiatives, and delivered their presentations.
During the speech, Digital Minister Taira referred to Japan’s initiatives in digitalization and noted that addressing common challenges shared by both countries, such as aging populations and declining workforces, requires the use of digital technologies, including the implementation of AI. In light of this, he emphasized the importance of collaboration between Japan and Hungary in this field.
