Digital Minister Taira’s visit to the Republic of India

Mr. Taira, Minister for Digital Transformation, visited New Delhi, India, where he held meeting with Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways; Information & Broadcasting; Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India and exchanged views with private sectors and the experts in the digital field.

Minister Taira paid a courtesy call on Minister Vaishnaw and shared views on AI implementation in government and cybersecurity issues.

Visits and exchange of views

Speech and discussions at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)

Minister Taira visited the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and delivered speech to the students on "Japan’s digital policy and future prospects," covering AI and cybersecurity topics. He then visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to share Japan’s digital policy and initiatives. During each visit, he engaged in discussions with professors and students on potential Japan–India cooperation in the digital field.

Visit to the private sectors in the digital field

Discussions were held with the local private sectors involved in the digital field. An overview was provided regarding the current status of the IT industry in India, highlighting advanced initiatives and the state of digital human resources in a country expected to maintain ongoing economic growth.
