Vice-Minister for Digital Policy Tomiyasu introduced "The Guideline for Japanese Governments’ Procurements and Utilizations of Generative AI for the sake of Evolution and Innovation of Public Administration," formulated by the Digital Agency in May last year. He explained that the guideline supports AI adoption in public administration and the private sector and expects it will serve as a model for G7 members and other countries worldwide.
He also noted that Data Free Flow with Trust (DFFT) is a key concept underpinning all four priority areas and emphasized that access to diverse data is essential for achieving safe and secure AI.
Through these efforts, the Digital Agency will continue to promote DFFT in international forums, including G7. The Digital Agency will also contribute to advancing international discussions by sharing its knowledge and experience regarding the appropriate procurement and utilization of generative AI in public administration.
