Results of Use of Generated AI by Digital Agency Staff

In order to maintain and strengthen public services in Japan, where there is a serious shortage of workers due to the declining population and aging population with a low birth rate, it has become inevitable for the national and local governments to actively utilize AI, including generative AI.
Since May of this year, Digital Agency has built a generative AI usage AI (project name: Gennai) that can be used by all Priority Plan employees as part of the efforts related to the "Government AI", which is a AI platform for the government, etc., built and deployed by Digital Agency's internal development, etc., based on Digital Agency (approved by the Cabinet on June 13, 2025) to realize a digital society. By providing multiple applications to support administrative work, such as a National Assembly response search environment and a legal system research support environment, Gennai has been verifying how it is used and issues in the field of administration. As three months have passed since the use of Gennai began, we will announce the results of the use of generated AI by Digital Agency staff.
Digital Agency will continue to take the lead in promoting the use of AI to promote the implementation of AI in society as a whole. We also plan to share the results and experiences of Gennai's verification in Digital Agency with national and local governments, and to form an AI ecosystem with Public-Private Partnership.
