The First Japan-Tunisia Expert Meeting in the Digital Field held
On May 15, 2025, the Digital Agency held its first online digital expert meeting with the Ministry of Communications Technologies for the Republic of Tunisia. The meeting focused on the digital initiatives of both countries, where participants exchanged views and shared technical knowledge. This meeting was held based on the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in the field of digital government, which was signed in October 2023.
Overview of the Meeting
1. Digital Transformation
Both sides exchanged information on how digital transformation is being leveraged to enhance government efficiency and improve experiences for citizens.
2. Use of AI
The Digital Agency presented its initiatives to implement AI in national government ministries and agencies, showcasing specific examples such as AI Ideathon and Hackathon, while Tunisia shared its strategies and initiatives for the use of AI.
3. Digital Initiatives in Tunisia and the African Union
During the meeting, Tunisia presented its digitalization efforts, as well as those of the African Union.
The expert meeting in the digital field is expected to lead to concrete outcomes under the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), which aims to support in enhancing digital government initiatives in both countries.
Both sides will continue to regularly share their best practices and further strengthen their collaboration based on their MoC.
