Application to grant the Minister for Digital Transformation Encouragement Award

The Digital Agency has established the “Minister for Digital Transformation Encouragement Award” to recognize students who have achieved outstanding results in events such as student hackathons organized by private-sector entities.
Through this commendation, the Digital Agency supports initiatives by private entities that contribute to human resource development for the realization of a digital society and encourages students, who will lead the next-generation digital society, to take on the challenge of solving issues and to achieve future success. On this basis, the Digital Agency grants approval to confer the Minister for Digital Transformation Encouragement Award when it is deemed that the criteria set forth below are satisfied.
Applicants wishing to obtain approval to confer the Minister for Digital Transformation Encouragement Award are requested to review the details below and submit the required application documents within the designated application period.
Please note that approval may not be granted depending on the content of the relevant events or activities.
About the Encouragement Award
1. Screening Criteria
The organizer of the events must be an entity that falls under any of the following:
- National administrative organization (including incorporated administrative agencies, special and authorized corporations)
- Local governments (including local incorporated administrative agencies)
- Universities, colleges of technology, or specialized training colleges (including the establishing entities thereof)
- Public interest corporations (excluding religious corporations) or equivalent organizations
- Press organizations such as newspaper companies, radio broadcasters, and television broadcasters
- Executive committees, etc. established for the purpose of implementing events of public interest (including cases co-sponsored by multiple companies, etc.)
- Other organizations that possess a solid track record of activities concerning events of public interest and are deemed appropriate as subjects for the conferment of the Minister for Digital Transformation Encouragement Award.
The content of the events must satisfy all of the following conditions:
- It must pose no risk of promoting the interests of any specific individual or entity.
- It must broadly solicit participants from across the country.
- The organizer must establish an examination system etc. to ensure fairness in making decisions regarding the conferment of the Minister's Encouragement Award.

3. Application Period
Please submit your application at least one month prior to the event or activity.
If the name “Minister for Digital Transformation Encouragement Award” will appear on posters or other printed materials, applications must be submitted at least one month before printing.
Applications submitted shortly before the event, or with incomplete documents, may not be accepted for review.
