Ministerial Handover Ceremony at the Digital Agency of Japan

Minister for Digital Transformation Furukawa was appointed on September 17, 2026, followed by the appointments of State Minister Shiozaki and Parliamentary Vice-Minister Akamatsu on September 18.
On September 24, a handover ceremony was held for the former and newly-appointed Ministers, State Ministers, and Parliamentary Vice-Ministers, with many employees attending both in person and online.
During the ceremony, outgoing ministers—former Minister Matsumoto, former State Minister Imaeda, and former Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kawasaki—reviewed key initiatives from the past year, expressed gratitude to everyone involved, and conveyed expectation for the advancement of the Digital Agency.
The newly appointed ministers—Minister Furukawa, State Minister Shiozaki, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister Akamatsu—expressed appreciation for their predecessors, greeted the employees, and presented their objectives for their respective roles.
