The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry approved private sector's use of Japanese Public Key Infrastructure.

On March 24, 2023, POCKET SIGN Co., Ltd. was certified by the competent minister as a business that meets certain standards required for using Japan Agency for Local Authority Information Systems based on the provisions of Article 17, Paragraph 1, Item 6 of the Act on Japanese Public Key Infrastructure's Certification Business Concerning Electronic Signatures, etc. (Act No. 153 of 2002).
About Japanese Public Key Infrastructure
Japanese Public Key Infrastructure is a public service that enables identity verification and online application on the Internet by using electronic certificate stored in My Number Card to ensure the prevention of impersonation, alteration, and transmission denial.
Approval of private sector by the competent minister
Private sector can also be used by companies that meet certain criteria for system security and are certified by the competent minister. So far, 15 companies have been certified by the competent minister.
In addition, in order to promote the expansion of the use of Japanese Public Key Infrastructure, we have established a "Platform Operator" program as a mechanism that can be used easily and inexpensively by private sector.
Services provided by Pocket Sign Co., Ltd.
As a platform business operator, PocketSign Co., Ltd. will provide a service that enables identity verification and other procedures for opening accounts with financial institutions using Public Personal Authentication.
In addition, we plan to provide various services such as disaster prevention and evacuation support using our self-developed digital ID card issued by Public Personal Authentication.
