Signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of digitalization

On September 19, during His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s visit to Japan, Digital Minister Taira signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain. This MoC promotes bilateral collaboration in the field of digitalization between Digital Agency of Japan and Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) of Bahrain.
Areas of Cooperation
The areas for cooperation and collaboration include, but are not limited to:
- Promoting bilateral cooperation and facilitating the mutual exchange of information and expertise on matters related to digitalization.
Modalities for Cooperation
The modalities of cooperation could mainly include:
- Exchange of information on policies, laws, and regulations; and
- Any other modality of cooperation to be decided upon by the Participants.
Operative Period
The cooperation under this MOC will continue for a period of three (3) years from the date of signature; provided, however, that this MOC will be extended for another one (1) year period, unless either Participant expresses at least two (2) months prior to the date of discontinuation of this MOC, the intent not to renew the MOC, and the same will apply thereafter.
