Information disclosure

Under the Act on Access to Information Held by Administrative Organs (Act No. 42 of 1999), anyone can request the disclosure of administrative documents held by Digital Agency.
Administrative documents requested to be disclosed are disclosed in principle, except for non-disclosure information prescribed by law.

2. Hours of acceptance of disclosure requests at the counter
From 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on days except holidays of administrative organs
(except between noon and 13:00)
*Visitors are required to register to enter the building by the previous day for the convenience of building management.
If you come to Digital Agency for viewing, etc., please contact the person in charge in advance by e-mail to inform the time of your visit, etc.
3. Acceptance of Disclosure Requests by Mail
Please send your request by mail to the address listed above. We do not accept requests by fax or e-mail.

It is used when applying for a reduction or exemption of fees for the implementation of disclosure.
5. Payment of Disclosure Request Fee
The disclosure request fee is 300 yen per administrative document related to the disclosure request.
The disclosure request fee is collected only by revenue stamp. Regardless of whether the disclosure request is sent by mail or submitted directly to the counter, please be sure to attach a revenue stamp worth 300 yen per request.
6. Search for administrative document file management books
You can search the administrative document file management book of the Digital Agency from the administrative document file management book of each administrative organ of the country. Please use it to specify the administrative document you request, etc.

8. Procedures after making a disclosure request
When a disclosure request is received, a decision on disclosure or non-disclosure is made within 30 days in principle, and the requester is notified in writing.
If a decision is made to disclose the information, the information may be disclosed by submitting to the Digital Agency Information Disclosure Office an application for disclosure methods, etc. for administrative documents with the prescribed fee attached with a revenue stamp.
If there is a decision of non-disclosure, you can make a request for examination to the Prime Minister according to the regulations of Administrative Complaint Review Act.
9. Payment of Disclosure Implementation Fee
When disclosure is implemented, a disclosure implementation fee is required in addition to the disclosure request fee (Disclosure Implementation Fee List). However, for each administrative document to be disclosed, until the total disclosure implementation fee reaches 300 yen, it will be free of charge. If it exceeds 300 yen, it will be the amount obtained by subtracting 300 yen from the total disclosure implementation fee.
The disclosure implementation fee is collected only by revenue stamps. Regardless of whether the application for disclosure implementation method, etc. is sent by mail or submitted directly to the department, a revenue stamp equivalent to the prescribed fee must be attached.
For the amount of the fee, please refer to Appendix 1 (PDF / 99 kb) of the Order for Enforcement of the Act on Access to Information held by Administrative Organs (Cabinet Order No. 41 of 2000).
10. Viewing of Digital Agency Employee's Report on Gifts, etc.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 9, Paragraph 2, etc. of the national government officer Ethics Act, a copy of a report on gifts, etc. by a Digital Agency Employee may be viewed if the amount exceeds 20000 yen per report.

Points of Attention Regarding Procedures for Inspection via the Internet
- For viewing procedures using the Internet, it is assumed that you have a phone number and email address that you can contact and that you can receive PDF files.
- If any deficiency is found in the content of the request for viewing, it will be made available for viewing after making an inquiry to the contact information listed in the e-mail.
